At Fatima Memorial Hospital, we see miracles unfold when faith meets compassion. The story of Ahmed Sher, a retired postman from Sargodha, and his son Farhan Hassan is a powerful reminder of how hope can defy despair—and how your Zakat can rewrite destinies.
A Father’s Final Hope
On December 24th, Farhan Hassan arrived at Fatima Memorial Hospital carrying the weight of a son’s deepest fear: losing his father. Ahmed Sher, a humble postman who had served his community for decades, was in critical condition. His oxygen saturation had plummeted to zero, his blood sugar was undetectable, and a raging infection had overtaken his body. Family members had resigned to fate, believing his final moments had come. But Farhan refused to surrender.
“If Allah has written recovery for him, I will seek treatment for him,” Farhan declared. With unshakeable faith, he brought his father to Fatima Memorial Hospital—a decision that would change their lives forever.
A Race Against Time
The moment Ahmed Sher was admitted, our medical team mobilized. Every second counted. Doctors stabilized his collapsing vitals, nurses worked tirelessly to manage the infection, and social support teams stepped in to address the financial burden. The estimated cost of treatment—9 to 10 lakh rupees—was far beyond what Farhan, a man of modest means, could afford.
But at Fatima Memorial Hospital, no life is valued in rupees. Through a combination of government support and the hospital’s commitment to equitable care, Ahmed Sher received life-saving treatment without delay. When his (SSP) benefits were exhausted, the hospital seamlessly transitioned him to Zakat-funded support, ensuring Farhan faced no further financial strain.
A New Dawn for Ahmed Sher
Today, Ahmed Sher is recovering, and his strength slowly returning. Farhan’s eyes well with gratitude as he shares, “The doctors, nurses, and staff didn’t just save my father—they gave him a second life. We owe everything to Allah and Fatima Memorial Hospital.”
Ahmed Sher’s story is not unique. Every day, families like him walk through our doors, clinging to hope. Your Zakat ensures they never walk alone.
