Closing Ceremony of Diabetes Management Course

A certificate course in Diabetes was conducted in Fatima Memorial Hospital by the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Endocrinology over six months which has reached its conclusion and a closing session was held on the 5th of January 2018. There were six contact sessions once a month for two days. It has accreditation for 72 CME hours from University of Health Sciences. The course had about 75 participants from all over Punjab and also Kashmir. The course was focused on the practical aspects of diabetes management, especially for Family Physicians who are the first contact for the diabetic patient and who are also at the frontline to offer Prevention and Health Promotion. The feedback has been overwhelming and positive. We aim to continue and initiate other similar initiatives to empower Family Physicians to actively involve themselves in Continuing Professional Development.
