A seminar to mark world contraception day was organized by Prof. Dr. Fauzia Monnoo Khan, HOD Gyne Unit II and Dr. Sameena Khurshid at Fatima memorial hospital Lahore to highlight the grave issue of unchecked growth rate of Pakistan, high maternal mortality and extremely low contraception prevalence rate with the mission to improve awareness on reproductive health and development of an effective family planning programme.
Prof. Rakhsanda Rehman, Dean School of Health Sciences, FMS, Dr. Noreen Zafar, Provincial Representative and Dr. Sabeeha Khursheed Ahmed, Regional Manager for National Committee for Neonatal Health were the chief guests of the event. This was well attended by majority stakeholders including senior faculty, medical students, midwives and nurses.
